Faith Anaya and Pulaski Academy students with homemade prepared meals to benefit Potluck agencies. Since November, 2008, more than 700 kids from numerous schools, faith-based organizations and other programs have participated in Faith’s “Kids Cookin’ for a Cause” program, assembling almost 15,000 meals for Potluck.

Thanks to your generous support, during 2016…

POTLUCK helped feed over 11,000 children, adults and working poor individuals/families a week through our network of food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.

Excess food was rescued from donors in all segments of the food industry including brokers, cafeterias, caterers, event centers, gourmet-to-go stores, hospitals, hotels, markets, restaurants, schools and universities, wholesalers and distributors, and more.

In addition, hungry Arkansans also received over 6 tons of turkeys and nonperishable food collected from food drives held on our behalf by Scout packs, schools, businesses – and thousands of prepared pasta meals created by Faith Anaya’s “Kids Cookin’ for a Cause” cooking classes for children.

Potluck provides all food and services without charge to organizations throughout Pulaski County and in under-served communities of Benton, Dumas and Vilonia, Arkansas.

Our ability to do so helps agencies redirect food dollars to support their own important missions helps to ensure doors remain open at food programs where our hungry neighbors turn for groceries or onsite meals.

Potluck is committed to ensuring that our neighbors in need have access to good food throughout the year and we need your help in honoring our commitment.

This holiday, we’d like to ask you to please consider adding POTLUCK to your holiday giving. Your contributions help us source, rescue and distribute the most nutritious food possible to organizations feeding hungry children, adults and families.

Potluck is the local grassroots approach to fighting hunger throughout our city and in un/under-served communities within the state.

Food rescue is a smart, sensible idea – and one that makes Potluck an essential partner in the fight against hunger.

We’re extremely grateful for your support and wish you and yours a happy, healthy holiday season.

Nearly 30 years ago, Potluck was founded by a handful of volunteers from the Junior League of Little Rock, Inc. and the Arkansas Interfaith Task Council who had the “visionary concept” that good food should be used to feed someone hungry, rather than go to waste.

Since its inception in 1989, Potluck has redirected over 80 million pounds of incredible, edible food (+40,000 tons) from landfills to dinner plates.

Food which otherwise would have gone to waste, was used instead to help put millions of meals on the tables of hungry Arkansans.

Our trucks collect a variety of high quality food from local and out-of-area foodservice businesses to include wholesalers/distributors, high-end markets, hospitals, hotels, caterers, cafeterias, restaurants, gourmet-to-go stores and more.

All food is distributed free of charge to our network of agencies.

Rescued food includes: fresh produce, prepared, perishable, frozen and nonperishable food that would go unused because: (1) too much was prepared and was unserved/unsold and/or (2) was deemed imperfect for retail because it was housed in unattractive outer packaging – EX. a box of deli meat was crinkled/mislabeled – a can had a torn label, etc. – and/or, in the case of fresh produce, was deemed cosmetically imperfect for retail.
