EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

sylvia blain

Sylvia Blain has been a part of the Potluck family for 5 years and works as the Executive Director. She has been in the food industry for many years and has a background in teaching agricultural practices and food self-sufficiency in schools. She loves that this career does no harm, works to uplift others, and helps to reduce the impacts of climate change. In addition, she also likes the variety of job duties that come along with her position. “Some days are spent on a forklift and others are spent unloading donations. While other days are spent in meetings, brainstorming solutions to some of the world’s more pressing problems.” With a great love for her team and admiration for their dedication to the cause, she is grateful to lead them with a common goal in mind. Potluck’s mission is important to her because of her desire to help improve access to fresh foods in communities with higher food insecurities. Her passion for improving sustainability, (particularly where it intersects with food and social justice issues surrounding food access and waste), motivates her to work each day towards that goal. “Potluck’s mission to divert healthy, high-quality food from the landfill and provide it to those in need marries all of my interest into one place!” We are honored to have Sylvia be a part of our team and work towards our mission.

FOOD COORDINATOR

amber johnson

Amber Johnson has been a part of the Potluck family for 3 years and works as the Food Coordinator. One of the upsides to her job is always having tasks to complete, which leaves little room for idle time. “I love how I don’t have to sit and watch the clock at this job.” Another bonus for her is the welcoming work environment. “I love our mission and I love my boss! She makes this place fun, fair, and free! (No pun intended)”. Potluck’s mission is important to her because she understands personally how food insecurity can impact individuals and communities across the world. “I grew up poor and I know what it’s like to be hungry. I honestly wish I had known about Potluck back then.” We are pleased to have Amber be a part of our team and work towards our mission.

DEVELOPMENT VISTA

BETH MORAN

Beth Moran has been a part of the Potluck family for a little over a year and works as the Development Vista. Her favorite part about her job is being able to give back to her community. “I’m happy every day that I get to help in a small way. It brings me joy and happiness.” Potluck’s mission is important to her because she knows first hand the hardships that food insecurity can cause. “I have experienced poverty for myself, so it is very much a full-circle mission for me.” We are grateful to have Beth be a part of our team and work towards our mission.
